A host of ghosts? Port Angeles woman, others probe paranormal activity in old Port Townsend hotel

PORT TOWNSEND — Sorrow lies buried in the basement of the Tibbals Building on Water Street, said the Port Angeles star of Mystic Radio.

Robin Alexis said that the halls of the former brothel — now a popular hotel and restaurant — echo with the cries of prostitutes who became pregnant and delivered their children into this world, only to see them dispatched to the next.

She and a team of investigators from PIHA, Paranormal Investigations of Historic America of Monroe — spent Friday night at what is now the Palace Hotel at 1004 Water St., which is believed to be haunted by the Lady in Blue.

Collision of two asteroids?

Hubble has discovered a mysterious X-shaped object traveling at 11,000mph. NASA says that P/2010-A2 may be a comet, product of the collision between two asteroids. Or a Klingon Bird of Prey. Either way, UCLA investigator David Jewitt is excited.

Residents in Harbour Mille, a tiny community on Newfoundland’s south coast, want to know what they saw in the sky Monday night.

Darlene Stewart said she was outside taking pictures of the sunset when she saw something fly overhead.

She snapped a picture of the object in an attempt to zoom in on it to see what it was.

“Even with the camera, I couldn’t make it out until I put it on the computer,” she told CBC News. “I knew then it wasn’t an airplane. It was something different.”
Stewart’s picture shows a blurry image of what appears to be some kind of missile-like object emitting either flames or heavy smoke.

Leading Scientists Discuss Possibility of Alien Life

Some of the world’s finest scientific minds have assembled in London to discuss the question of UFOs.

Eminent academics and scientists are attending a two-day conference in the capital organised by the Royal Society – the UK’s national academy of science.

World leading astronomers, biologists and astrophysicists including professor Colin Pillinger, principal investigator for the British Beagle 2 Mars lander project, will address questions such as: What will alien life look like if we find it? Will we be meeting life-forms incredibly similar to ourselves or will they be the frightful monsters of sci-fi films? How do you break news of alien discoveries to the world without creating wide-spread pandemonium?

Aliens Might Not Be Friendly, Warns Astronomer

Friend or Foe?

Friend or Foe?

Scientists searching for alien life should get governments and the UN involved lest we unwittingly contact hostile extraterrestrials, a British astronomer has warned.

The caution comes as more experts argue that the search for intelligent life should be stepped up.

Mr Marek Kukula, public astronomer at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, said: “Part of me is with the enthusiasts and I would like us to try to make proactive contact with a wiser, more peaceful civilisation.”

But he warned: “We might like to assume that if there is intelligent life out there it is wise and benevolent, but of course we have no evidence for this.
