White House: There’s no sign of E.T. or UFO cover-up Science policy official responds to petitions calling for full disclosure

The White House has responded to two petitions asking the U.S. government to acknowledge formally that aliens have visited Earth and to disclose any intentional withholding of government interactions with extraterrestrial beings.

“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race,” Phil Larson from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy reported on the WhiteHouse.gov website.”In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye.”

“The Exorcist” Author William Peter Blatty On Revisiting His Most Famous Work

The Exorcist

The Exorcist

The book “The Exorcist”, famously made into a movie in 1973, came out 40 years ago.

To celebrate this anniversary, the author William Peter Blatty, now 83 years old, has returned to his original work and made various changes for a new special edition (Harper, $25.99 hardcover, $9.99 e-book). The changes include edits to the dialogue and an entirely new scene.

ABC Ordered a Show That’s a Cross Between The X-Files and The West Wing

Jon Favreau, Roberto Orci, Seth Green, and Michael Dougherty are working on a sci-fi drama called Ex-Comm, which is “a cross between the paranormal suspense of The X-Files and the political intrigue of The West Wing,” according to Deadline. To the surprise of no one, ABC snatched up the show and gave it a put-pilot commitment.

CIA Cover-Up Alleged in JFK’s ‘Secret UFO Inquiry’

Real or Hoax?

Real or Hoax?

A story that combines UFO cover-ups with the assassination of John F. Kennedy is a gold mine for conspiracy theorists. And that’s just what author William Lester says he uncovered while conducting research for a new book on Kennedy: a memo written by JFK and addressed to the CIA in which the president requests confidential information about UFOs.

In the never-before-seen, top secret memo supposedly written on Nov. 12, 1963, the president ordered the CIA director to organize the agency’s intelligence files relating to UFOs, and to debrief him on all “unknowns” by the following February. Ten days later, Kennedy was assassinated.

The newly surfaced document is bound to add fuel to the undying fire surrounding the president’s death. But first things first: Is the document authentic?

American Physicist and British Author discover same afterlife proof

Time-dilation solution?

Time-dilation solution?

A US physicist who has been researching a microtubule theory of Life After Death for several decades is amazed that he has found a second voice in British binary mind theorist Anthony Peake.

Cape Cod resident George Hammond’s theory involves in his words, “a last minute relativistic time dilation which provides an Afterlife which actually occurs microseconds before death but because of the enormous time dilation appears to occur after death”.

Thinking he must be the only researcher to have stumbled upon this truth, Hammond has published the theory in 2nd rank academic journals and widely on Usenet without being able to get anyone’s attention.

The time-dilation solution to the age-old question of life after death seemed to Hammond to be something of a virtual miracle.

He was therefore duly astonished when he accidentally came across Anthony Peake’s “Cheating the Ferryman” theory , published in 2006, during a Google search of life after death. That Peake proposed the same exact time dilation solution to the problem stunned the physicist. Says Hammond in a post on the Anthony Peake Cheating the Ferryman international forum, ” I was flabbergasted! How could a non-physicist possibly arrive at such a profound physics theory!”.

Particle Discovery Has Physicists Abuzz

In a development physicists are calling “huge,” “tantalizing” and “unexpected,” researchers have measured a signal that could herald a new kind of particle or force of nature.

Yet the finding is not yet conclusive, and leaves many researchers skeptical.

The discovery comes from an atom smasher called the Tevatron at the Fermilab physics laboratory in Batavia, Ill. Inside the accelerator there, particles are ramped up to near the speed of light as they race around a 4 mile (6.3 km) ring. When two particles collide, they disintegrate into other exotic particles in a powerful outpouring of energy.

Scientists analyzed thousands of these collisions, and found a suspicious pattern in about 250 more cases than predicted. In these instances, the products of the collision between a proton and its antimatter partner, the antiproton, were different than expected.

Laser Scan May Reveal Stonehenge Secrets

New secrets revealed?

New secrets revealed?

Modern technology may be the key to unlock hidden secrets about an ancient monument: Stonehenge.

Researchers are using lasers to scan the nearly three dozen stones, or megaliths, that make up the famous circular complex on the Salisbury Plain of southern England.

The vertical stones — over 10 feet tall and weighing many tons — form the site that’s believed to be nearly 5,000 years old. And nobody is sure why or how Stonehenge was originally built.

“This new survey will capture a lot more information on the subtleties of the monument and its surrounding landscape,” said Paul Bryan of English Heritage, an adviser to the British government on historic buildings and monuments.

Can atom smasher double as time machine?

Cern's Hadron Collider

Cern's Hadron Collider

The Large Hadron Collider as a time machine? According to a physics professor and his assistant, the world’s largest atom smasher could indeed allow people to travel back in time.

Theoretical? To be sure. But they say it’s theoretically possible.

“Our theory is a long shot, but it doesn’t violate any laws of physics or experimental constraints,” said Vanderbilt University physicist, Tom Weiler, in a statement.

Weiler and Vanderbilt graduate fellow Chui Man Ho, outline their theory in a paper on a site operated by Cornell.

The atom smasher, which began operations last year, was built, in part, to help scientists in their search for the elusive Higgs boson, part of an invisible force field believed to give mass to particles in the cosmos. Nobody has ever actually observed the Higgs boson in an experiment to confirm the theory that was put forward by physicists Peter Higgs, Robert Brout and Francois Englert.

Weiler and Ho suggest that if the LHC can reproduce a Higgs boson, it will also be able to produce a related particle, called the Higgs singlet, at the same time. This is the crucial ingredient as they theorize that these singlets would serve as jumping off points with the ability to move into other dimensions, moving across time.

Researchers claim they found Atlantis in a Spanish swamp

Standing in a vast, mosquito-infested swamp in the pounding heat of southern Spain, Paul Bauman did not feel as though he was on the verge of uncovering a legendary world.

“I’m not a myth chaser, I’m not into pyramids or alien landings,” said the Calgary based geophysicist. “It crossed my mind more than once, ‘What are we doing here on this wild goose chase?’”

But Mr. Bauman, who works at Alberta engineering company WorleyParsons, where he spends most of his time tracking contaminants or searching for water supplies, was part of an international team that now claims to have located the lost world of Atlantis.

Mysterious Glowing Spiral Sighted in a Remote Star System

Mystery Spiral

Mystery Spiral

None of the world’s experts no what the strange spiral structure on the left is. Why the spiral glows is itself a mystery, with a leading hypothesis being illumination by light reflected from nearby stars. NASA astronomers think it is related to a star in a binary star system entering the planetary nebula phase, when its outer atmosphere is ejected. The huge spiral spans about a third of a light year across and, winding four or five complete turns, has a regularity that has never been observed before.
