Hmm, some say a swastika can be seen on the side of this UFO. But I’m guessing it’s just another healthy dose of pareidolia.

This photo is dubbed, “the oldest UFO photograph ever taken.” This item was the subject of bidding at Ebay in 2002, when finally the photo was purchased for $385.00 by Samuel M. Sherman, who was the president of Independent-International Pictures Corp. This was originally a “stereo” photograph. Certainly it was difficult to manipulate photos at that time, and remember, there were no flying objects then; at least, not from this world. {source: ufocasebook}

For those of you not in top physical condition, the  Old Hill Burying Ground in Newburyport, Massachusetts might not be the place for you. Unless of course, you don’t mind sweating all over yourself, like myself and Paranormal SPY colleague Ronin did the other day. But you know what, it was well worth it.

The cemetery was established way back in 1729 on a hill that was allegedly the result of an earthquake 250 years ago. Newburyport didn’t exist yet as it was still part of Newbury. It’s full of revolutionary war soldiers, privateers and ship captains. One of it’s most infamous buried there was Lord Timothy Dexter, an eccentric businessman who was really concerned about what people may say about him when he died. So he faked his death and attended his own wake.

Now if the history isn’t enough to get you excited, then the weirdness will. First they’ve had multiple incidents with people braking into crypts and desecrating corpses. One goof bag actually photographed himself dancing around with the skull of a civil war veteran on his shoulder. There was also a case where a local homeless woman had a favorite table-tomb for sleepy-time. I don’t know how anyone could sleep in this place. Oh, and there are some that even say that people have become temporarily possessed while walking through the cemetery. So you may want to say a few prayers before you enter.

As far as experiencing anything paranormal we can’t give anything specific other then it definitely has an overwhelming presence once that sun starts to set. Plus, we were not really there investigating as much as documenting the location. But one of the things that gives it that creepiness factor are the actual headstones. They’re really old and carved with some extremely haunted faces. It makes you wonder what these people were thinking when they ordered their headstone. Even some of the inscriptions were strange, such as long drawn out descriptions of suffering and pain before death. Although we couldn’t find it, there is a woman’s headstone describing how she choked to death on a pea. Now that’s something to be remembered for huh?

If you do go to investigate this place be extremely careful. It’s in really bad condition. Not only are there holes everywhere from some gopher or something but the headstones are leaning almost horizontal in some cases. And just for the record there’s more than one hill, so we would also recommend hiring a couple sherpas to lug your gear. Two days ago Ronin Fuse and I went on a quick paranormal jaunt through the Old Hill Burying Ground in Newburyport, Massachusetts. And when I say quick and jaunt in the same sentence, I mean it. We were both sucking wind after about five minutes of trekking up the 18th century hills. So we had to cut it short. Plus, I’m not going to lie to ya but the sun was setting and the heebie-jeebies were rising. This place definitely had a presence which you’ll be able to see tomorrow. Earlier today we saw the report of a UFO caught with a camera in San Francisco. According to the official testimony from the MUFON database the image was captured on March 8, 2009 while shooting some pics on a trip to San Francisco. Later while reviewing the photos the photographer noticed the UFO next to the City Hall dome. The witness also stated that other photos had been taken but the UFO did not appear in them. And for you camera buffs, they reportedly used a SONY model DSC-W90.

Anyway, we started looking at this photo this afternoon and something just didn’t feel right. We blew the thing up really tight and there is some strange stuff going on. First of all there’s some really strange artifacts showing up around the alleged UFO. It’s very square and almost looks like it was cut and paste. But hey, you be the judge. It’s still stinky to us.

Living on the north shore of Massachusetts gives you access to a ton of alleged paranormal sites and one of my all-time favorites would have to be Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. This place for some reason has drawn me back year after year and it continues to fascinate me. It’s one of those places that’s completely beautiful but at the same time creepy as hell.

One of the things that I’ve always found really interesting is the lack of information on the history of the place. Maybe I haven’t dug enough but it seems as though I can never get the real story which is why it’s probably intrigued me this long. Even Newburyport locals have a tough time filling you in on the details. But what you will find is, the park is the site of what use to be the estate of Frederick Strong Moseley which spans over 400 acres and runs along the Merrimack River. The estate was called “Maudesleigh” and had been built over a 19th century farm.

In 1985 the property was acquired by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management where it became Maudslay State Park. Today the park is full of ruins, bridges, maze-like gardens, a pet cemetery, and endless woods. You can spend hours in this place and still not see everything.

But what brought me here originally years ago was the story of “The Gates of Hell”. The original entrance into the estate is an old rod iron gate that leads back to the foundation of one of the homes on the estate. Why it got this name? Who knows? But this is where all the stories begin. Just some of the stories are goblin sightings under the bridges, satan worshippers conducting black celebrations, hell hounds, an old guy called Mr. Jingles, a murdered police officer, a ballroom full of guests dying in a fire, and the list goes on.

Now I know a lot of this sounds like urban legend and you know what, it probably is, but Maudslay can still deliver a chill right when you least expect it. For instance I’ve been there at night, which really isn’t recommended or allowed, so don’t get caught, but it’s freakin’ scary. You just always have a very strange feeling of being watched. Again this could’ve been my imagination but when you’re standing in a moon-lit maze at midnight you’re brain starts to spin some loopy thoughts. Can you say “Shining?” Yeah, you know exactly what I mean. I’ve also had a very strange experience in the rhododendrons which is on one of the main walking paths. It was late afternoon, very sunny and warm, birds chirping away and as soon as I walked into this section of rhododendrons everything went completely silent and the temperature felt like it dropped 10 degrees. I stood there waiting for the birds to start again figuring I had just startled them but nothing. There wasn’t even a sound of wind or the trees moving. It was almost like someone flipped a switch and just turned everything off. Again, weird.

Recently I had the urge again to go visit the strangeness of Maudslay. But what made this trip extra interesting was the unexpected snow storm. So I shot some quick photos of the different locations. I think I captured some interesting stuff but see what you think. I’m interested if anyone finds anything in them.
