I’ve been waiting for over a year now for this low-budget indie movie to move out of the festival circuit and get some commercial screen time or at least be released to video. But when it comes to getting a status update, we’re still in the dark. And now that Dreamworks has acquired the project and is putting big bucks behind a remake I feel like the project is deteriorating like a post-Halloween pumpkin. My money says Spielberg will be screwing up the flick with sappy special effects.Nothing can be found online other than a couple reviews of Oren Peli’s original film  and the official website, but you can’t even watch the trailer any more.
