Maybe I watched the Exorcist too many times or maybe it was the heavy dose of Sunday school I received as a kid, heck it could’ve even been those flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz, but part of me has always been a bit nervous delving too deeply into the paranormal realm, specifically investigations. I’ve been waiting for over a year now for this low-budget indie movie to move out of the festival circuit and get some commercial screen time or at least be released to video. But when it comes to getting a status update, we’re still in the dark. And now that Dreamworks has acquired the project and is putting big bucks behind a remake I feel like the project is deteriorating like a post-Halloween pumpkin. My money says Spielberg will be screwing up the flick with sappy special effects.
