This short film is about a piece of footage I (George Clarke) found behind the scenes in Charlie Chaplins film ‘The Circus’. Attending the premiere at Manns Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA – the scene shows a large woman dressed in black with a hat hiding most of her face, with what can only be described as a mobile phone device – talking as she walks alone.

I have studied this film for over a year now – showing it to over 100 people and at a film festival, yet no-one can give any explanation as to what she is doing.

My only theory – as well as many others – is simple… a time traveler on a mobile phone. See for yourself and feel free to leave a comment on your own explanation or thoughts about it.

A company called AORA has developed a hybrid solar power plant in the Israeli desert. Comprised of a number of 100kWe base units, the operation is modular (additional units can be added) and it should be complete sometime in the next ten days. When operational, thirty mirrors will track the sun and direct its rays up to the 98.4 foot tall “flower,” where the concentrated sunlight heats compressed air, which in turn drives an electric turbine. When the sun has set for the day (or if it’s cloudy) the turbine can be run off of biodiesel, natural gas, or fossil fuels, allowing the plant to operate twenty-four hours.

Can’t wait for this one! The first trailer for the new movie Pandorum, due out in September. From the creators of the “Resident Evil” film franchise comes “Pandorum,” a terrifying thriller in which two crew members wake up on an abandoned spacecraft with no idea who they are, how long they’ve been asleep, or what their mission is. The two soon discover they’re actually not alone — and the reality of their situation is more horrifying than they could have imagined.

Jackson explains the backstory behind what we’re seeing in the trailer, to answer at least a few questions. “These aliens arrived 20 years ago in a dead, derelict mothership, which hovers above Johannesburg. It’s enormous, like the size of 10 football fields. The aliens have ended up in a Soweto-style township beneath the ship. It’s clear that they’re not really integrating into society. They like to scavenge things, rip up train tracks. So the authorities shift them 200 miles away, into the African belt. They’ve built a concentration camp.” And of course, that’s when things get crazy. “The resident’s of Joburg want them gone.”

So I finally saw The Objective last night, and I gotta tell ya it didn’t leave me disappointed like many of the posts I’ve read online. It’s definitely a thinking man’s movie though. You’re not going to be spoon fed. Director Daniel Myrick sets up the story and lets the audience decide much like he did as the co-creator of The Blair Witch Project.

It almost begins like any war/espionage film would as we catch a ride into post 911 Afghanistan with a crew of colorful special op guys and one determined CIA agent. The mission, make contact with a Muslim cleric. Hmmm, “OBL” maybe. So then we get into some really good combat scenes to feed the action hunger but that’s where it starts to slow down. But it works, because it starts to deliver the creepiness and develop the desert as it’s own character. And this is where we start to learn CIA guy hasn’t been completely honest and the paranormal begins.

Technically, there isn’t much to criticize in The Objective. The cinematography was absolutely stunning, it almost felt like something you would see on PBS or National Geographic, which means if it sees a full week in a theater, it’ll be a miracle. And that’s only if The Objective gets there at all. I couldn’t find this flick playing anywhere and according to the IFC website it had a release date of February 4th.

In the making of video on the official website Daniel Myrick is seen explaining to his actors that he didn’t want them to look like they were acting. And he obviously got that across to his lead specifically, one of the professional actors,  because he was pretty weak. The military guys, some which were actually ex-military, I thought were really good. But again the look, feel, and story more than made up for the acting.

The ending, again, I’ve read tons of comments whining that it was a let down, basically a wet fart. I couldn’t disagree more. Yes, it’s a little open ended but it brings up some really good questions as to what just happened and what is really going on in the world around us, and behind government doors.

Overall, a must see for anyone interested in the paranormal or even someone looking for a good thriller for that matter. Hopefully you can find it in a theater before it hits DVD.

And one last note, I noticed that General Wesley Clark’s son was involved in The Objective. Maybe this movie isn’t too far off from the “real” reason the U.S. went in. What do ya think? [objectivemovie.com]

Well what a surprise, as I sit here and write, a good fellow from Paranormal Spy just acquired the film. Yahtzee!  So I’ll let you know how The Objective holds up sooner than later.
